- Working 5 days out of 7 (includes weekends)
- Must be fully flexible between 7:00am – 10:00pm
Role Overview
We are currently recruiting a Domestic Assistant to join a busy healthcare environment in Newry. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning and sanitising wards, corridors, and clinical areas
- Maintaining high standards of infection control and hygiene
- Safe handling and disposal of waste, including clinical waste
- Cleaning patient rooms, bathrooms, and communal areas
- Operating cleaning equipment and using appropriate cleaning materials
- Ensuring all areas are kept clean, tidy, and hazard-free
- Replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and hygiene products
- Following all hospital health and safety procedures
Essential Requirements
- Must be able to comply with uniform policy at all times
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and evenings
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Desirable (but not essential)
- Previous experience in a domestic, cleaning, or healthcare setting
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control procedures
