Lead Planning Specialist

As a key member of our Planning, Landscape and Energy Team, you’ll be leading on developing and delivering programmes of work to support the delivery of NRW’s role in the planning system including in relation to Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects and Significant Infrastructure Projects. This will involve developing new guidance and advice for NRW’s operational staff, Government, developers, and planning authorities to help ensure environmentally informed decision-making.

You’ll work with a range of colleagues across NRW including our regulatory, advisory, and operational teams, and will be responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships with Welsh Government and other key stakeholders.

Our Planning, Landscape and Energy Team sits within the Evidence Policy and Permitting Directorate of NRW. We are responsible for providing strategic direction for development planning, landscape, and energy to the wider organisation. Our role supports NRW’s mission to support resilience to climate change and nature’s recovery, as well as minimise pollution.
